Patient Success Stories

Everybody is unique. So have a look at Solutions for Wellness members who shared their unique experiences with the SFW program and how it helped them reach their goals.

Patient Case 1
Steven

Before joining SFW, Steven wrestled with:

  • Sleep problems (nightmares and interrupted sleep)
  • Poor eating habits, particularly with portion control
  • Difficulty staying motivated to exercise

How SFW helped*:

Steven credited the SFW Meal Planner with helping him choose healthier foods and making grocery shopping easier. "I am not a very good cook," Steven said, so his roommate did most of the cooking following the recipes. Steven lost weight. His sleep routine and ability to handle stress improved as well. He said tips from SFW newsletters and periodic progress update calls "kept me on track."

Patient Case 2
Linda

When Linda signed up for SFW, she was:

  • Overstressed
  • Overweight
  • A stress eater

How SFW helped*:

Linda says many SFW features helped her deal with her stress. She said the program helped her realize she used food to cope with stress. Once she felt less stress, she began to eat better and was able to lose some of those extra pounds. Meal plans and calls from a Registered Dietitian in the program helped. "I actually liked somebody calling and saying, 'How are you doing?'"

Patient Case 3
Carol

Carol had tried unsuccessfully to lose weight with various methods and programs. When she joined SFW, she was:

  • Overweight
  • Type 2 diabetic
  • Having trouble coping with stress

SFW experience*

With a personal meal plan, shopping lists, and other Meal Planner tools—Carol was able to develop new eating habits. She said nutritional counseling from Registered Dietitians helped encourage her. And she credited her family doctor and her husband with helping her stay focused.

How SFW helped*:

  • Lost weight
  • Reported feeling less stress
  • Lowered cholesterol and blood pressure
  • Developed exercise regimen (walks twice a day)

*Individual results vary.
